. This is a camera best suited for Manual setting users. Autofocus on the T7 is extremely slow, and has been since it came out. Manual focus is much faster once you learn to use it that way.The rest of the camera settings are very easy to adjust, and the auto works reasonably well for casual shooting.Holding any long lens still, is gonna be hard without a lot of practice, but the 500 is actually a really good lens as far as image quality. This is what that monopod and that tiny tripod are really good for!The slave flash is pretty tiny. I guess it could be useful but I am not sure what I could use it for. If you are needing to shoot dim lit, you are going to have to invest in at least a >$100 flash. The case I received was a very well made and suitable Vivitar. The tulip hoods, color and UV filters fit the lenses tight and work well. Always install UV lenses and leave them as they will protect your actual lens from dust and damage!Over all, I am very happy.

. This is a stunning camera. But you do have to download the full manual from Canon. This is possibly the best manual ever supplied and it’s free! When I opened the box I got a bit of a shock. The instruction booklet is tiny and hopelessly inadequate. I thought I’d made a big mistake buying it. It didn’t tell me anything I needed to know. But once I got the online manual which you can download to your computer and read at your heart’s content, I was amazed. This is a step by step set of instructions for people that know nothing at all about cameras – and for those who are advanced photographers as well. The camera can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. Just turn the knob to its first setting and it will do all the work for you. All you have to do is press the button to take the picture. But if you want complications [which you need never use!] they’re all there as well for the advanced photographer [and the manual explains everything in great detail such that even an old fogey like me could understand. But as I say, all you have to do is choose the first setting and the camera autofocuses and does the shutter speed and everything for you. As I say I’m an older guy and I remember the old film cameras, and the big thing was to have a zoom lens from 28 to 80, and the lens supplied with this camera is the equivalent to that lens [18 to 55], So, you have great flexibility from portraits to landscapes and everything in between. This is a stunning camera, but you will have to download that amazing manual, or like me, you might think you made a mistake buying it. You didn’t!

. The camera is great, as described. Had I known that the tripod and flash were so cheap, I likely would have ordered a different package. Honestly though, I’ve never come across a cheaper tripod and flash, both went in the garbage. The zoom and wide angle lenses aren’t useful for me as I have separate Canon lenses already for that, but for a cheap way to convert the one lens to wide angle and zoom, not a bad option, their quality seems pretty decent. Good quality filters. The backpack too isn’t the best, no velcro on bottom of dividers, so the dividers are loose from the back of the pack, which isn’t great. To do again, I would have just ordered the camera all by itself.

. One of the things I like about photography as a hobby, is there is a real community spirit. Even the more professional photographers with their Canon 5D Mk IV’s will stop for a chat and compliment my choice of the (much cheaper) EOS 2000D. The truth is, I don’t want an electronic viewfinder, or a poseable touch screen. I bought the EOS 2000D precisely because! it is more old school. I wanted the mirror, so that I am seeing exactly what the camera is seeing. It also means the batteries last longer, as I am not having to power an electronic viewfinder, and I also like the fact that while I am changing lenses, the mirror is down, covering and protecting the image sensor. As I am far happier cleaning just the mirror than the sensor. Yes it only takes 3 shots per second in burst mode, but that is all I need. The APS-C sensor can produce prints at 6000 x 4000 resolution, and that is more than enough to print off at large format, then frame your prints and decorate your house. There is something great about getting a beautiful landscape shot, framing it and hanging it on your wall. It means that if a visitor compliments the picture, there is a whole back story, because you! took the photograph. And trust me, the EOS 2000D is more than capable of taking some truly breath-taking photographs. It is probably better suited towards landscape and portrait photography, as it starts to show it’s age a little when you start capturing fast moving sporting events like motor racing, or wildlife photography. But other than that, it is a fantastic DSLR. The video capture is full HD at 1920×1080. My home projector beams at 1080p at 8ft across by 5ft high and the videos from the camera look fantastic, even at that scale. The wireless link is excellent. There are three setup memories. You can set the first up as a link to your home Wi-Fi, then link, say your iPad to your camera, via the Cannon Camera Connect app. This then lets you peruse your photos from the sofa without a cable in sight. Even delete photos if you want. You can also set up the camera to automatically back up your photos over Wi-Fi. The second memory can be used to connect directly to the camera when away from your home network. Whether you are connected at home, or directly, you can also take control of the camera functions from your phone, iPad or tablet. You can use the Live View, adjust basic settings and trigger the shutter. Granted, it is a little more long-winded than the later Bluetooth cameras, but it works well. And remember, the 2000D was only released in 2018, it is not what I would call an ‘old’ camera. This is highlighted by the fact that the camera has the Canon Scene Intelligent Auto PLUS mode (the green icon on the selection wheel), and will also communicate with compatible flash units via it’s E-TTL enabled hot shoe. If you want a breather from the mathematics of manual shooting mode, just put the Canon into Scene Intelligent Auto PLUS mode and be impressed by the results. The fact that the camera also has flashlight communication, means the intelligent mode even works with the flash connected. In fact there is only really one thing that may make me upgrade to a full frame camera in the future, and that is the reduced field of view that a cropped sensor camera has. But you can compensate for that by lens choice. You just need to remember, that being a cropped sensor, the actual focal length you will see through the camera, is greater than the number on the lens. So for example, you will need to fit the 2000D with a 22mm lens, to see the equivalent of 35mm through the camera, but there are lots of apps and websites with focal length calculators. And if you are new to cameras, I would highly recommend your first lens purchase is the famous Canon ‘nifty-fifty’, otherwise known as the EF 50mm f/1.8 STM. As you will notice an instant improvement to your low light photographs. The other great thing if you decide to purchase a 2000D, is that it seems to be the default camera used for many of the photography tutorial books. That is a huge bonus, because the menu images and discussions regarding DSLR functions are usually using the 2000D, so you are not only learning about photography in general, but as a bonus, you are learning how to get the best out of your own camera. At the time of writing, Amazon sell a hardback complete photography course book, and that uses the 2000D as its teaching camera. There are also literally hundreds of videos on YouTube, that teach you how to get the best out of the 2000D. The only bit of advice I would pass on, is to caution prospective buyers that there are numerous EOS 2000D camera kits on the Amazon website and online, some cheaper than others. The difference in price is usually because the 2000D body can come fitted with the older EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, or the more modern EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II. Those last few letters (IS II) are very! important. They mean that the lens has the Canon image stabilisation system built in. You can tell by looking for the extra selector switch on the side of the lens (see the image). Get the stabilised lens kit at a good price and you are on to a winner. Highly recommended.

. All items in the kit seem great except for the carrying case, the carrying case is very pathetic, I cannot believe that a great product like the Canon camera would be packaged with this sad excuse for a carrying case….

. I bought this to replace an old camera that was no longer working well. I’m so happy with this camera! The autofocus works great, but you do have to be patient as it takes a few seconds and you have to wait for it to tell you it’s ready (beeps). The colors are nice and bright, and I have to do very little editing on the pictures. Even purple comes out well with this camera. My only complaint is it’s a complicated multi-step process to send photos to your phone. I also can’t get any computer to recognize the camera when plugged in with a data cable to transfer photos that way. I have to take the SD card out and put that in my computer to pull the photos off, then put the card back in the camera. I’ve tried everything suggested to get it to work with a data cable, but no computer in our house will see the camera, so we’re stuck with the inconvenience of having to pull the card.Overall, however, it’s an excellent camera and very easy to use.

. The Canon Rebel T7 camera offers a compelling entry-level experience for photography enthusiasts. Its 24.1-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor delivers crisp and vibrant images, while the DIGIC 4+ image processor ensures swift performance. The camera’s autofocus system performs admirably, especially in well-lit conditions, providing quick and accurate focus on subjects. Its beginner-friendly features, such as Scene Intelligent Auto mode, make it accessible for those new to DSLR photography. The T7’s ergonomic design and lightweight build enhance portability without compromising on durability. The 3-inch LCD screen is clear and bright, facilitating easy composition and review of shots. While the camera lacks advanced features like 4K video recording, its Full HD video capabilities produce decent results. Battery life is commendable, allowing for extended shooting sessions without constant recharging. In conclusion, the Canon Rebel T7 is an excellent choice for entry-level photographers seeking a reliable and user-friendly DSLR camera with solid image quality and performance.
