. Calling it an FPV drone is a little misleading. It’s heavy, expensive, and fragile for an FPV drone with FPV control settings. With that being said, there are normal and sport modes (apart from manual control) that are much safer to use, and that combined with the incredible range and image fidelity makes this drone amazing for exploration and videography purposes. Documentation on repairability is a little sparse at the moment but it’s probably better to play it safe and get the $200 insurance package that DJI offers which comes with 2 replacements over a 1 year period.I’m seeing a few other reviews on here of people having technical difficulties with setting up the goggles or their iPhones, and I can verify that the software works with an iPhone 12 pro which is the phone that I am currently using. Setting up the software is a bit tricky and requires all the components to be charged and you have to connect to the goggles using the usb to usb c adapter provided. It does a signal conversion with the adapter itself.Additionally the goggles ask you for the language setting upon turning them on for the first time. DJI should probably do a better job with documenting the specific configuration steps, as I found the Quickstart guide to be confusing, which may have led to the some of the issues that people are seeing with the initial configuration. All in all, it’s a bit of an experience to setup this drone but it’s great for distance flying and exploration. If that’s your thing or you already have sport FPVs and want to get something for longer flights–and don’t mind the additional cost–this is a great pick.

. Even if my remote is fully connected to my phone in the Virtual Flight Simulator and all keys work, the two sticks don’t work at all but work with the drone it self. Also the goggles foam is crap and a lot of light come in…It’s make for a potatoes face.Almost every accessories are out of stock.Very heavy and fragile drone. This drone make a LOT of NOISE….if you expect to fly this thing around peoples, houses and urbain area’s, expect to have a lot of complaints. You will get max 12-13 minutes of battery if you are gentle and very slow with the drone….other than that, expect 10 mins battery life and less.I finally returned the drone for all of these reasons….I suggest to wait for the second FPV generation.

. I’ve watched many reviews before buying the fpv drone, at the end of it it seemed like an awesome drone and I decided to buy an extra battery pack, the motion controller and a carrying case.I decided to purchase a used one and amazing did an amazing job ensuring everything was in the box and that it was practically brand new. Upon opening the box everything looked nice and futuristic, extra propellers, extra cords, everything.I decided to download the DJI Virtual flight app to practice some flying around, and connecting everything was a HUGE pain in the ass, close to 4hours of attempting to connect and nothing. The goggles DO NOT support people who wear glasses, it’s a very uncomfortable tight fit and the screen is stuck on a very high viewing setting which I can’t change.PROS:Amazing qualityVery good cool ideaLots of smaller features like forward and downward sensingCONS:ExpensiveConnection is a pain and unreliableGoggles are not made for people who wear glassesGoggles require a battery pack attached to itBattery runs out quicklyAs much as I wanted to enjoy my experience with this dji product I did not and will be returning it

. You don’t know until you buy this that your FAA ID has to be verified prior to EACH liftoff. This means that you have to have your phone connected to the goggles, WITH A NETWORK CONNECTION, before you can fly the drone. If you’re in your front yard, now you need your phone WIRED to the goggles to fly. BTW, this also drains the goggles’ battery, because it’s charging your phone now.If you’re in nature, without a network connection, you’re hosed. No fly. None. No drone flight. Period. If you can’t wire your phone to the goggles AND get a network connection to your phone (you know, like everywhere worth photographing) then you’re not allowed to take off. This is NOT acceptable. I’ll be returning mine, which is too bad, because it’s a nice unit that flies well.

. First off, this is a GREAT drone – we love flying it. Its VERY simple to learn how to fly this thing. The biggest problem is just getting it set up in the first place. The video tutorials didn’t seem to really match the hardware but it was “close enough” to make it work. They also don’t have hardly ANY decent videos. The hardest step by far is updating the firmware on everything and for people without a technical background, it might be a bit intimidating. But you REALLY need to update that firmware to fix earlier topple problems that they fixed with a software patch. You basically plug the headset into your phone, install the app, and follow the steps. However it didn’t always “take” because it felt like I had to patch it 3 times in a row before it stopped complaining. Once you are past that, everything gets MUCH easier. So go find yourself an 8 year old that can do the firmware updates for you and give them a cookie. The other thing to know is that you need to double-tap then HOLD power buttons to turn things on and off – that was SOOOO confusing, and I could never figure out how to turn on/off the battery. The headset is very comfortable and super super easy to loosen/tighten – probably the easiest I’ve ever used. The picture is clear and smooth. The only downside I’ve found is that the eye width adjustment does not go far enough – not everyone has an elf-sized head and it needs to go wider. The controller fits in your hand nice and olds a good charge. I do wish that it had some kind of external antenna so that it had better range – I’m CONSTANTLY getting warnings about it – but it doesn’t seem to affect flight. We’ve had this thing 2000 feet in the air with no issues, although it does seem to be a bit affected by wind shear more than others it’s size.Battery life is ok – 15 minutes maybe? But of course its like a car – it depends on how you drive it.My biggest complaint – and it might be just learning more on my part – but once the battery hits 10%, it just stops and hovers. It will ignore your commands, which is REALLY frustrating when you are racing to get back to home and you are 20 feet off the shore over water and it just STOPS. Then I have to get the boys wet wading out into water to grab it. Let the operator OVERRIDE it if they want – the operator knows best most of the time. Now once again, there might be a way and I just haven’t found it yet.Overall, this thing has been a BLAST and (don’t tell me wife) I just ordered a 2nd one.Another comment before I save this, the batteries are WAY TOO FREAKING EXPENSIVE – c’mon DJI, quit being greedy. We own 4 batteries now and I’m broke. Oh, and make it easier to remove the batteries from the drone while you are at it.Highly Recommended Drone!

. Not my first drone, but this is super easy to use. As with all over 250g drones, you need a licence. You have to register and do all that. After charging everything going to how to use, and first flight everything was smooth and easy to do. This drone doesn’t work with the flight simulator app, but honestly it’s so easy to fly you don’t need it.It’s very point and fly.(Keeping in mind I get easily motion sick) Other than a slight nausea feeling when banking a dropped turn, I love it and haven’t had a problem with feeling nauseous.Super fun.

. As entry into the stunning world of FPV this little drone has what it takes. Love the avata and looking forward to enjoying it a great deal this summer :)It is so easy to fly right out of the box for a complete new entry to flying with goggles 2 and motion controller 2 that I was hooked instantly. The sensation of flying is uncanny and can even make my knees go on me! Truly a fun experience. The footage is fantastic in 4k. Really crisp. Camera stills arent fantastic but i come from fuji cameras and lenses so i am spoiled with quality. To be fair they will be good for most situations. This drone is well over 249 grams so be sure to write your basic RPAS test and get certified to enjoy this lovely drone hassle free. Register the drone as well. Total cost to do this about 1 hour of time and $15. Beats the 1k fine you can get for not doing it.Lets keep the drone hobby fun in Canada by flying safe and respectfully!

. I crashed this drone on an oil tanker 2 km off shore, it actually landed upside down on the deck. Instead of panicking I activated turtle mode, flipped it over, took off and flew it back to shore no problem. I’ve crashed it a few times now and it still flies perfectly. Great product DJI!

. While I know a lot of people are buying a Avata 2, I chose this drone as a starter because I figured by now most of the bugs have been worked out, and I was looking for a cheaper option to get started in in fpv flying.I have to say this little drone has exceeded my expectations, and has rejuvenated my love for drone video. It’s a little intimidating to fly at first, but once you get the hang of it it really is very easy to operate. It’s also very durable as I’ve crashed it a few times already running into trees and so far it seems to be holding up pretty well.
