. This small USB-powered WiFi camera gets quite warm during use and requires the O-Kam Pro app for access. The daytime picture quality is decent, but the night vision is dim when using the built-in illumination. The camera is not compatible with C2C smart-charge USB ports and requires a standard USB adapter.The app runs through Chinese servers and I take precautions accordingly. The camera’s Bluetooth® radio is only used to make connection through the app simple, although it did take two attempts before the camera connected to my WiFi network. The app also contains a signal-strength function to help place the camera in spots with good WiFi coverage. While there is a slot for a micro-SD card in the camera, I did not insert one as I am only interested in live views of my renovation project at the moment.Because the camera is so small and lightweight, it can be difficult to place it in position without the USB cable interfering. As it does get quite hot, it must remain open to the air on all sides.Full disclosure: I ordered this VSTARCAM Tiny WiFi Camera for Home Security through the Amazon Vine program. As a user of the product, I have done my best to provide an honest review.

. I was looking for a reasonable way to monitor my pets while I was at work but didn’t need a fancy camera or subscription plan. The VSTARCAM camera fit the bill nicely. First, it is small. I can literally put it anywhere and hide it if I wanted to. It’s wireless (charges with a USB-C adapter) and wifi enabled so I can monitor home from anywhere. The setup was really easy as there are QR codes that walk you through the process. The app is available through both Google and Apple, so it will work on a variety of devices. The picture quality was really good and I could hear goings on pretty clearly through the app. There are lots of different settings in the app that I have not yet played with, but this camera packs a lot of great attributes in a small and affordable package.
